Nook Color SD Card CyanogenMod
Easiest Nook Color SD Card Method
Feel free to skip the text below and go to the directions that finally allowed me the Nook Color sd card method here. I spent a lot of time going through the various methods people have used, and the last thing I want to do is make someone wait longer than necessary.
This all started because I had written a post on how to fix the “Your Device Isn’t Compatible With This Item” error that was showing up on my Nook Color. It started getting a lot of traffic. Then, a number of people started complaining that the fix wouldn’t work for them – at all. I had gone over the steps many times on my device, and knew it was working for me and lots of other people. What could it be.
I selected one of the users having trouble and emailed them. After a number of emails back and forth, I discovered that the fix doesn’t seem to work if you’re using the Nook Color sd card method – that is, rather than root and install directly to the device, they were booting off the sd card. It’s a legitimate method, but one I had not tried.
I resolved to set up a card in this way so I could try and find a solution for the other portion of the community with this problem. I spent a long time digging around for how to do it. Sure, there are places I can buy a card, but that wasn’t exactly what I wanted. I reached out to a friend with that was using the Nook Color SD card method, but he couldn’t remember the site he found that helped him. He did offer some suggestions on the search terms he used. Ultimately, it just took some time.
If you’re having the error I mention above, please bear with me. I’ll get the solution posted as soon as I find it.
